GenLogs Raises $60M in Series B Funding

GenLogs, an Arlington, VA-based provider of a truck intelligence platform, has raised $60 million in a Series B funding round led by Battery Ventures.

The round also saw participation from IVP, Cathay Innovation, and 9Yards, as well as existing investors Venrock, Steel Atlas, HOF Capital, TitletownTech, and Autotech Ventures.

The funding comes after a $21M Seed and Series A round.

The company plans to use the funds to expand its core platform, powered by its privacy-focused roadside sensors, and add features for shippers, insurers, governments, and financial institutions.

GenLogs’ technology collects trillions of data points from millions of sensors and satellites.

Roadside cameras capture real-time truck data, but a three-step privacy filter ensures only commercial vehicles are tracked: private cars are deleted, commercial markings such as USDOT numbers are checked and vehicle windows are blurred to prevent biometric identification. This protects privacy while allowing GenLogs’ AI to analyze patterns and verify carrier authenticity by matching physical movements with digital records.

GenLogs’ platform serves multiple industries. Shippers and logistics companies use it to source and vet carriers, while insurers and financial institutions rely on it for accurate underwriting. Governments gain better oversight. Customers include major companies such as J.B. Hunt, Werner Enterprises, AIPSO, and the Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT).

Beyond commercial use, GenLogs works with federal and state law enforcement to fight serious crimes. It has helped track trucks involved in interstate sex trafficking, leading to the recovery of a minor, and assisted a counter-narcotics agency in uncovering a smuggling network, resulting in multiple arrests and raids.

“The trucking industry is the backbone of our economy, but it’s fragmented and mostly analog,” Joyce said. “We’re using intelligence community strategies to provide full visibility, improve efficiency, enable better pricing, and protect against fraud and the $35 billion in annual cargo theft.”

“In a very short time, GenLogs has built a unique data set with high commercial and social value,” Ryu said. “Drawing on their intelligence experience, Ryan and his co-founders saw that having a reliable, nationwide view of trucking operations could transform mission-critical work across industries.”

As FreightTech grows, GenLogs is becoming a leader in combining AI with real-world infrastructure monitoring. By relying on actual data rather than self-reports, it helps reduce fraud, boost highway safety and strengthen supply chains.
