Carl, an AgeTech company that is committed to the development of dementia-friendly products, has received $1.15 million in pre-seed funding. Backers were not identified.
Co-founded by Niclas Sellebraten and Farid Chaouki, it is an AgeTech company that is dedicated to the transformation of dementia care and the caregiving experience by providing innovative, user-friendly solutions that promote community and improve communication.
Carl operates in two distinct capacities:
Initially, as a phone or tablet that is dementia-friendly and has an intuitive interface that is designed to accommodate the requirements of individuals with Alzheimer’s and dementia. It offers user-friendly features such as one-touch dialling, video calls, undesirable call blockers, memory photo albums, and music, as well as simplified communication. Additionally, it offers the potential for future applications.

Secondly, the Carl Family App streamlines care management by providing a comprehensive suite of tools, such as private and secure family networks, the ability to monitor the battery and location status of the loved one, and more. Additionally, it provides a designated area for carers to access valuable resources, share experiences, and collaborate, including curated content that provides caregiving advice, education, and more.
