Imperium Technologies, an Austin, TX-based steam system intelligence company, has raised $2 million in a funding round.

The company plans to use the funds to help bring its product to market and reach more customers.
Imperium’s solution combines InteliTrap®, its smart steam trap, with SteamView®, a monitoring platform that uses data to track performance. Together, these tools help industrial operators spot problems earlier, improve reliability, reduce waste and make better maintenance decisions using real time insights.
By combining smart hardware with real-time software insights, Imperium is creating a new type of steam system technology for industries like chemicals, food processing, and manufacturing.
Many industries have modernized, but steam systems are still an important part of industrial infrastructure that has seen little innovation. They account for 37% of fossil fuel use in the U.S. industry. For years, operators have depended on manual inspections and reactive maintenance, often without clear insight into the waste that causes energy loss, higher emissions, and unexpected downtime.
