[Funding news] NYC-based Vensica Medical Secures $11Million in Funding

Vensica Medical is a company that develops treatments for urology, has secured $11 million in funding. This funding round was led by the Israel Biotech Fund (IBF) along with key partners Merz and Laborie.

The company plans to use the money to speed up its Phase 2 clinical trials in the United States and Europe for treating overactive bladder (OAB) using botulinum toxin A (Xeomin®) delivered through a special needle-free device.

Led by CEO Avner Geva and CTO Avi Eftel, Vensica Medical focuses on creating new therapies for urological conditions. Its needle-free delivery system aims to treat overactive bladder with less invasiveness.

Through its partnership with Merz, it has gained exclusive rights to use Xeomin® in needle-free treatments for various urological conditions. They will also receive support from Merz for clinical development.

About Vensica Medical

Vensica Medical is also working on an ultrasound catheter for treating bladder cancer. After tumors are surgically removed from the bladder, this catheter will be used to deliver medication directly into the bladder.
