Supply chain assaults, which can financially ruin an organisation, usually target open source software or services provided by third parties that are part of a company’s IT stack. A Juniper Research report estimates that by 2026, supply chain hacking might cause losses in income and damages to the world economy of almost $81 billion.

Through the public declaration of software supply chain security as a national security threat and the issuance of an executive order with the goal of creating mitigating measures, the White House has demonstrated its commitment to tackling the larger issue.

Hasan, Lineajeā€™s CEO, said, ā€œFor organizations that care about the risk their software creates for their organizations as well as their customers, focusing and managing this risk is critical, Lineaje was born to discover, manage and secure software irrespective of where itā€™s built.ā€

Lineaje operates in a competitive market. Its competitors include Kusari, Ox Security, Chainguard, Dustico, and Endor. Additionally, major IT giants like Microsoft, Google, and Amazon are stepping up their efforts to strengthen the security of broad open source software.

With participation from Tenable Ventures, Carahsoft, Wipro Ventures, SecureOctane, and AlumniVentures, the round was co-led by Prosperity7 Ventures, Neotribe, and Hitachi. as per reported by techcrunch.
