[Funding news] NYC-based Tennr Secures $37Million in Funding

Tennr a company that offers an automation platform for medical documents has raised $37 million in funding bringing its total funding to $61 million. This round was led by Lightspeed Ventures, with support from existing investors a16z and Foundation Capital.

The company plans to use the funds to grow its research team and boost sales and marketing efforts.

Founded by Trey Holterman, Tyler Johnson, and Diego Baugh, it aims to help healthcare businesses automate the process from when a document is received to when a patient is cleared with insurance and ready to be scheduled.

It’s specialized machine learning models help read, sort, and respond to the many complex documents that healthcare practices exchange.
