[Funding news] MA-based Boston Materials Secures $13.5Million in Funding

Boston Materials, a company that makes advanced materials for semiconductors and aircraft, has raised $13.5 million in funding.

The round was led by AccelR8 and Diamond Edge Ventures, with support from both new and returning investors, including Valo Ventures, Gatemore Venture Partners, Collab Fund, and Woori Venture Partners.

The company plans to use the funds to grow its presence in the semiconductor market, building on its current success in the aerospace sector.

Founded in 2016 and led by CEO Anvesh Gurijala, Boston Materials creates a new type of material that is as strong and conductive as metal but as light as plastic.

Their patented technology, called Z-axis Fiber™, uses carbon fibers arranged vertically to improve energy transfer. These advanced materials, sold under the ZRT® brand, help solve important problems like managing heat and reducing weight in industries such as semiconductors, aerospace, and electric vehicles.
