I’m excited to share that we’ve raised a $35M seed round, co-led by Mayfield Fund and Nexus Venture Partners. The funding will help us grow the Obot team and push forward on two projects we care deeply about: the Obot MCP Gateway and the Nanobot MCP Agent Framework.
If you’ve been following the Model Context Protocol (MCP), you know it’s quickly becoming a standard way for AI assistants to connect with tools and data. It’s powerful, but enterprises face some tough challenges in adopting it—things like security, governance, and integration at scale.

That’s where Obot comes in. The Obot MCP Gateway gives IT teams an open-source control plane to manage and secure MCP servers, while Nanobot offers a full agent framework built on MCP and MCP-UI, making it possible to create richer assistants that deliver UI right inside the chat experience.
We’ve spent much of our careers building open-source platforms that enterprises depend on—first at Cloud.com (acquired by Citrix) and later at Rancher Labs (acquired by SUSE). With Obot, we see the same opportunity in AI: to take something exciting but fragmented and make it practical, secure, and ready for real-world use.
We’re grateful to have incredible partners joining us in this journey.
Ursheet Parikh from Mayfield put it well:
“Enterprises urgently need a way to unlock the value of AI assistants while ensuring governance, security, and trust. Obot is the missing piece of enterprise infrastructure.”
And from Jishnu Bhattacharjee at Nexus:
“The Obot team has a proven track record of building critical open-source infrastructure platforms. We believe Obot will become the standard foundation for how enterprises integrate AI tools and agents.”
