Synthpop, Inc., a Cambridge, MA-based developer of agentic AI for healthcare operations, has raised $15 million in a Series A funding round led by Ansa Capital.
The round also saw participation from Defy: vc, Peterson Ventures, Storm Ventures, and Bruce Broussard. In conjunction with the funding, Marco DeMeireles, Co-Founder & Managing Partner at Ansa, joined Synthpop’s Board of Directors.

The company plans to use the funds to grow its operations, accelerate product development, and expand into additional healthcare areas.
The company is developing an agent-based automation platform that leverages document intelligence, voice agents, and payer-specific logic to manage complex tasks, such as prior authorisations and claims follow-ups.
Synthpop’s platform brings together document intelligence, payer-aware reasoning, and conversational voice agents into a single integrated system.
The company recently acquired the team behind Airt, led by Davor Runje and Hajdi Cenan, key contributors to Microsoft’s AutoGen framework, highlighting its commitment to building the infrastructure for multi-agent systems.
The economic case for Synthpop is clear. In an industry facing staffing shortages and rising administrative costs, saving time is critical. The company says workflows that once took a human 40 minutes can now be completed in under a minute.
“AI-native solutions like Synthpop are the only way for healthcare organisations to meet rising demand,” said Marco DeMeireles, Co-Founder & Managing Partner at Ansa Capital, who is joining the Synthpop Board. The platform, which runs at one-fifth the cost of traditional labour, has already processed over 2 million patients and integrated with eight major EHR systems, addressing the industry’s long-standing reliance on highly manual workflows.
“Point solutions can’t solve operational bottlenecks,” said Elad Ferber, CEO of Synthpop. “Healthcare providers need a unified system that understands insurance requirements, and integrates smoothly with their existing software.”
