Atlas Oncology Partners Raises $28M in Series A Funding

The company plans to use the funds to expand its presence with additional oncology practice partners and to strengthen its clinical and operational infrastructure.

Atlas was founded by Rubicon Founders, a healthcare investment firm focused on building companies that transform patient care. Cancer treatment is often fragmented, requiring patients to manage multiple providers and complex clinical and social needs. Atlas addresses this by embedding interdisciplinary care teams—including providers, nurses, patient navigators, and social workers—directly into oncology practices, enabling coordinated, patient-centred care during and after treatment.

Atlas’ model integrates patient navigation, psychosocial and supportive care, proactive care coordination, and expanded in-person and virtual clinical access. The company takes on full medical cost risk from payors and aligns incentives with a network of high value oncology practice partners. To succeed, Atlas invests in supporting partner operations, delivering high-quality, value-based care that lowers avoidable costs and reduces the financial burden on patients.

“From the moment of diagnosis, patients can feel overwhelmed by the complexity of cancer care,” said Kate Barnard Roberts, President and Co-Founder of Atlas Oncology Partners.

“Atlas simplifies that experience by embedding coordinated, holistic support directly into oncology practices. This investment allows us to expand our model and help more patients while staying committed to improving quality of life and outcomes.”

“We invested in Atlas Oncology Partners to rethink how cancer care is delivered,” said Matt Kim, Partner at Rubicon Founders. “By placing interdisciplinary teams directly in oncology practices, and taking on full medical cost risk, Atlas is creating a scalable model that improves outcomes, patient experience, and affordability.”

“Atlas Oncology Partners is tackling one of the most complex and expensive areas of healthcare with a model that aligns closely with patients, oncologists, and payers,” said Ian Chiang, Partner at Flare Capital Partners. “We are excited to lead their Series A and support Atlas as it grows a next-generation, value-based oncology model that helps community oncology groups deliver coordinated, holistic care and achieve meaningful outcomes for patients and families affected by cancer.”
