The company plans to use the funds to expand facilities, add new product lines, and grow its team.
Seasats, a leader in small uncrewed surface vehicles, has demonstrated the reliability and endurance of its platforms. Its long-endurance vessel has completed trans Pacific and trans Atlantic crossings, while its interceptor has operated continuously for over a week. With this new funding, Seasats plans to increase production and meet growing market demand.
“Robots usually add value by automating tasks that are dirty, dull, or dangerous,” said Mike Flanigan, CEO and co founder of Seasats. “We’ve focused on the ‘dull’ tasks, creating vessels that can run reliably for weeks or months, like Navy and utility ships. This approach has earned strong support from users and investors and this funding reflects that.”
“Seasats has achieved what many in the market only promise: autonomous surface vehicles that are proven in real operations and ready for missions,” said Jason Chapman, Co founder and Managing Partner at Konvoy Ventures. “During our research, we spoke with Seasats’ customers and were impressed by their consistent feedback on the vessels’ performance in real world missions. With growing use across military, commercial and international partners, Seasats is well positioned to lead the next phase of maritime autonomy.”
“Seasats provides important capabilities that enhance security for the U.S. and its allies,” said Philip Bilden, Founder & Managing Partner at Shield Capital. “From port security and coastal patrols to protecting deployed military in risky operations, Seasats is supporting missions that make a real difference.”
Over the past year, Seasats won contracts with the U.S. Marine Corps and Navy. The company was also chosen for the Department of War’s APFIT program, which funds innovative technologies ready to scale. Series A funding will help Seasats expand facilities, add new products and grow its team to meet rising demand for affordable, scalable maritime autonomy.
