The company plans to use the funds to grow its operations and continue developing its products and services.

Ownwell is a national property tax company helping modernize an outdated industry for U.S. property owners. To support homeowners outside its main service areas, it now offers the National Appeals Packet, a personalized, ready-to-file digital appeal created using AI, proprietary data, and the same tax strategies as its experts. The packet includes step-by-step instructions, filing details, deadlines, requirements, and the evidence and valuation data needed for a strong appeal. Customers can use Ownwell’s technology to create, review, and improve their materials before submitting.

Ownwell uses its proprietary technology to simplify property tax appeals by automating complex steps and analyzing millions of local records to build the strongest case. In its main service areas — Texas, Illinois, Florida, Georgia, California, Washington, and New York — Ownwell handles the entire appeal process with no upfront fees, achieving an 86% success rate and average annual savings of $774 per customer. In addition to its property tax appeal service, the company also offers tax bill management, mortgage support, home insurance, energy savings, and bill reduction services.

Ownwell’s 2025 survey of 2,500 U.S. homeowners found that 74% are worried about rising property taxes, but only 22% have ever appealed their bill, often because property tax laws are complicated and confusing. Ownwell combines local expertise with innovative technology to make the appeal process simpler, more affordable, and more transparent.

Recently, the company processed more than 1 million appeals and saved customers millions of dollars in property taxes. Ownwell is helping hundreds of thousands of homeowners who previously never filed appeals, showing it can grow the market, not just serve it. In Texas, the company handled appeals for over 200,000 properties whose owners did not protest in 2024. Ownwell uses a win-contingency model and charges a low 25% fee only on the savings it delivers to homeowners.

Colton Pace, CEO and Founder of Ownwell, said homeownership in America is at a tipping point, with many people unable to afford homes and others struggling to keep up with property taxes, mortgage payments, and home insurance. He explained that large investment firms use lawyers and experts to navigate local regulations and secure significant savings, and that Ownwell is bringing that same expertise to everyday homeowners with a single click. With new funding and national expansion, the company plans to help millions more homeowners save money.

Selina Troesch, Principal at Intuit Ventures, said Intuit’s mission is to power prosperity around the world, and they are proud to support Ownwell in doing the same for homeowners. She said property tax appeals are often complex, but Ownwell has created a simple, “done-for-you” experience that makes the process clearer and easier. She added that they are excited to partner with a team leveraging AI to build a trusted, all-in-one money-saving platform for homeowners.

Ryan Sanders, Managing Director at Mercato Partners, said, “We invest in companies that don’t just operate in markets but change them. Ownwell has transformed a complex, manual process into a fast-growing digital platform. By using AI to solve a common problem for homeowners, they are building a leading business we’re proud to support.”

Ownwell has also launched the National Appeals Packet to make the property tax appeal process easier for homeowners nationwide.
