Profitmind Raises $9M in Series A Funding

Profitmind, a Pittsburgh, PA-based provider of an agentic AI decision intelligence platform, has raised $ 9 million in a Series A funding round led by Accenture Ventures.

The round also saw participation from Thorndale Farm, Magarac Venture Partners, AI Fund, Profitmind Chairman Andrew Ng, Lightscape Partners, and Mario Ciampi.

The company plans to use the funds to expand the platform to more global retailers, enhance product features, and grow the team to support this growth.

Profitmind is an AI decision platform designed for retail teams. It recently partnered with Microsoft to offer its platform on Microsoft Marketplace and Azure, making it easier for global retailers to access and adopt. Along with its partnership with Accenture, this shows strong enterprise demand for practical AI systems that can be quickly integrated into existing retail operations and deliver real results, rather than experimental tools that sit outside core workflows.

Profitmind replaces manual retail planning, and analysis with a single platform that surfaces clear, financially driven decisions across pricing, inventory and assortment. Each week, teams receive a ranked list of recommended actions such as price updates, promotion changes, inventory adjustments, or assortment shifts along with their expected impact on sales, profit and working capital. Once approved, these actions are sent to execution tools, and results are tracked in the platform to improve future recommendations. Retailers in industries such as apparel, footwear, auto parts, and home goods use Profitmind.

“Retail teams have plenty of data, but not enough time or confidence to make decisions,” said Dr Mark Chrystal, Co-Founder and CEO of Profitmind. “This investment helps us grow a platform that replaces days of manual work with clear, strategy-based recommendations teams can act on quickly and with predictable results.”

“For AI to truly help large organizations, it must go beyond dashboards and predictions and support real decisions,” said Ng. “Under Mark’s leadership, Profitmind has built agentic AI that coordinates decisions across teams, unlocking significant value as companies grow.”

“In retail, AI is changing how people shop, how businesses run, and how employees work. Retailers face constant disruption, especially in merchandising, which is central to the industry. Leaders are often overwhelmed by huge amounts of data and reports, leaving little time to make decisions,” said Jill Standish, Accenture’s global retail lead. “Profitmind closes the gap between insight and action with agentic AI. It connects data from many sources to deliver clear, prioritized recommendations that retailers can trust and act on quickly in a highly competitive market.”
