Saronic Technologies, an Austin, TX-based defense technology company, has raised $1.75 Billion in a Series D funding round led by Kleiner Perkins.
The round also saw participation from Advent International, Bessemer Venture Partners, DFJ Growth, BAM Elevate, 8VC, Caffeinated Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Elad Gil, and Franklin Templeton. The company is valued at $9.25 Billion valuation.
The company plans to use the funds to grow and improve its autonomous surface vessels and AI-powered maritime technologies, expanding production and capabilities.
At a key time for global security and economic competition, Saronic is creating new shipbuilding capacity using its autonomy-focused design and modern manufacturing. Producing advanced autonomous ships at scale is essential to maintain the strength needed to protect trade, project power, and ensure long-term resilience at sea.

A key part of Saronic’s plan is building Port Alpha, its next generation shipyard, while quickly expanding its existing facilities in Louisiana and Texas. The funding will help Saronic grow and strengthen its shipbuilding operations, focusing on innovation, scalability and strategic impact.
To meet rising demand from U.S. and allied customers for longer-range, higher-capacity vessels, Saronic will quickly expand its lineup—from the 24-foot Corsair to the 180-foot Marauder and larger ships.
Building on its 2025 momentum, Saronic grew from a leader in autonomous maritime systems to an international maritime force. The company raised $600M in a Series C at a $4B valuation, secured a $392M production contract with the U.S. Navy, and launched its first 180-foot autonomous ship, Marauder, completing the first hull in under six months after acquiring the facility.
To meet demand, Saronic bought its Louisiana shipyard and committed $300M to expand the 300,000 sq. ft. facility, creating 1,500 new jobs. The company also expanded its Austin headquarters to over 500,000 sq. ft., opened hubs in San Diego and Washington, D.C., and began operations in the UK and Australia. With over 1,300 employees and growing commercial and defense partnerships, Saronic is driving rapid technological progress and revitalizing American shipbuilding in the age of autonomy.
“Over the years, the U.S. has lost much of its shipbuilding and maritime manufacturing capacity,” said Dino Mavrookas, Co-Founder and CEO of Saronic. “We are tackling this with a new approach that combines advanced engineering, modern manufacturing, and software-driven production to build autonomous ships faster, more precisely, and at greater scale. This funding will help Saronic create new types of autonomous vessels and rapidly expand U.S. shipbuilding like never before.”
“Maritime strength isn’t just about having advanced technology — you also need the capacity to produce it at scale,” said Ilya Fushman, Partner at Kleiner Perkins. “Saronic stands out because they are doing both, designing autonomous ships to push limits and building the facilities to produce them reliably. That combination turns innovation into lasting advantage. We’re proud to support a company leading the way in autonomous systems and advanced shipbuilding.”
