SiMa.ai, a San Jose, CA-based Physical AI company, has received a strategic investment from Micron Technology, Inc. The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
The company plans to use the funds to grow its operations and continue developing its products.
The investment strengthens the partnership between the two companies to build advanced computing and memory systems that deliver high performance while using less power. These systems are designed for edge applications like robotics, autonomous machines, and industrial automation.
Physical AI—where machines can sense, think, and act in real time—needs memory that is both fast and energy efficient. To support this, SiMa.ai’s Modalix™ platform uses a smart memory design to handle complex tasks, including AI models, directly at the edge.

To bring Physical AI into real-world use, strong integration between hardware and software is needed to improve performance and speed up deployment. SiMa.ai has combined Micron’s LPDDR5X memory with its platform to deliver better efficiency and power use for robotics, autonomous vehicles, and smart industrial systems.
Customers can already use SiMa.ai’s system-on-modules with Micron memory. These modules fit easily into existing platforms, helping companies quickly move from testing to full production.
“Physical AI puts very high demands on memory, and Micron’s LPDDR5X is a strong fit for our Modalix platform,” said Krishna Rangasayee, CEO and founder of SiMa.ai. “By combining our AI solutions with Micron’s advanced memory, we can deliver high performance with low power use. Together with our Palette™ software, this helps customers run complex AI at the edge more easily.”
“Physical AI needs new memory designs that balance speed and power so systems can work in real time,” said Andrew Byrnes, Director of Venture Capital at Micron Technology. “We’re investing in SiMa.ai because its platform delivers strong performance with low power and can scale across many Physical AI applications.”
