Patlytics Raises $40M in Series B Funding

Patlytics, a NYC-based provider of an AI platform for the full patent lifecycle, has raised $40 million in a Series B funding round led by SignalFire.

The round also saw participation from N47, Myriad Venture Partners, Relativity, Alumni Ventures, Antiportfolio Ventures, and BAM Corner Point.

The raise brought the total amount to approximately $65M.

The company plans to use the funds to speed up its main product development and strengthen its market position.

Patent professionals at law firms and companies worldwide use Patlytics to manage the full patent process, including invention capture, drafting, infringement checks, invalidity analysis, legal due diligence, and portfolio management. Customers report major benefits, such as 80% faster project completion, over $30,000 saved per claim chart, and up to 15 hours saved per patent application.

AI has changed many parts of the legal industry, but intellectual property (IP) has been slower to adapt. This is not because it is less important, but because it works differently from other legal areas. A company’s patents can decide whether it launches a product or cancels it, and whether it leads a market or follows others. Because of this, IP is both a legal and strategic issue, and it needs software designed specifically for it.

Patlytics is trusted by leading global companies, over 40% of Am Law 100 firms, and top-ranked IP law practices, including Quinn Emanuel, Foley & Lardner, Susman Godfrey, Canon, Rivian, Xerox, Asahi Kasei, and TaylorMade. These organizations use it for their most important work, such as patent filing, litigation, and licensing negotiations, and rely on it to manage growing workloads and complex cases while maintaining high accuracy and quality.

The company will focus on three areas: building an AI-powered collaboration tool for law firms and IP teams to work together on patent documents, developing AI agents that can handle tasks like drafting and research automatically, and improving tools for chemistry and biology patents, including better support for sequences and chemical structures.

“Patent work requires judgment that AI can’t replace. We built Patlytics for attorneys handling high-stakes work like litigation, patent filing, and licensing, where accuracy is critical,” said Paul Lee, Co-Founder and CEO. “Everything we’ve built is focused on helping them protect the assets their clients depend on.”

“Using Patlytics, Rivian’s legal team can turn raw information into clear organized drafts ready for review. The platform helps structure documents align terminology and create sections that attorneys can easily edit and improve. This lets the team start with a strong draft instead of a blank page, saving time, reducing rework and improving early alignment,” said Rivian IP Department.

“IP is one of the most important and underserved areas in professional services, since these decisions shape a company’s long-term competitive position,” said Wayne Hu of SignalFire. “Paul and Arthur started with the core patent problem and built from there. The result is a complete IP platform, not just an AI add-on, and it has become essential for the professionals who use it every day.”

“Patlytics is becoming the platform IP lawyers and professionals rely on to do their best work. We are proud of this progress, but our main focus is still our customers,” said Arthur Jen, Co-Founder and CTO. “IP professionals face more pressure than ever, and we want to help them succeed. We’re grateful for the trust our partners place in us and excited for what’s ahead.”
