NYC-based Chunk Foods Secures $7.5Million in Seed Funding. The investment, anchored by Cheyenne Ventures, increased the total to $24 million.

The company plans to use the money to further establish itself as a major player in the plant-based whole cuts market. Under the direction of its founder and CEO, Amos Golan, ChunkTM creates, produces, and distributes plant-based whole slices made using a small number of ingredients and a cooking method inspired by fermented foods.
Its goods have clean ingredients without additives, binders, or thickeners, and are little processed. Tight with 25 grammes of protein, Chunk is free of GMOs and cholesterol, making it a great alternative to beef in recipes.

To create a new line of whole cut meat substitutes made entirely of plants, the company has partnered and invested with Better Balance. Mexico offers the co-branded Chunk goods for foodservice.
