After being heated, the carbon dioxide-rich liquid is directed to a desorption unit where it releases a pure stream of carbon dioxide that is ready to be hidden and sealed away.
The technique has been designed to work with a variety of renewable energy sources, such as geothermal and waste heat produced by heavy industry, and it only requires low-cost, readily-available system inputs.
