ARCYN Defense has completed its seed funding round to speed up the development of next-generation air and counter-threat defense systems for modern, contested battlefields.
Formerly Marteos Industries, the company is developing an edge-AI-powered kinetic defense platform designed for precision, resilience, and cost-effectiveness at scale. ARCYN Defense is focused on changing the economics of modern defense by creating systems that are fast, adaptable, and scalable in environments where low-cost, widespread threats are changing the nature of warfare.
“Our mission is to create defense systems that fit today’s operational needs,” said Poynton. “ARCYN focuses on precision, resilience, and affordability at a scale that provides real deterrence.”
ARCYN Defense also introduced its management team, with Dr. Aaron Poynton as CEO, Dr. Fazel Farahmand as CTO, and Lou Schiliro as Head of Operations.
The company also announced a distinguished advisory board, including Major General Brook Leonard (Ret.), former Deputy Commander and Director of Operations for Combined Task Force–Space Operations and former Chief of Staff to U.S. Space Command; Lieutenant General Eric Wesley (Ret.), former Deputy Commanding General of U.S. Army Futures Command and former Commanding General at Fort Benning, Georgia; and Colonel Terry Virts (Ret.), former U.S. Air Force officer, NASA astronaut, and commander of the International Space Station.
