Bland, a San Francisco, CA-based company that develops a voice AI platform providing production-grade AI agents, has raised $50 million in a Series C funding round led by Dell Technologies Capital. The raise brought the total amount to over $100 million to date.
The round also saw participation from HubSpot Ventures, Archerman Capital, Tribeca Venture Partners, Emergence Capital, Upfront Ventures, Scale Venture Partners, Y Combinator, Max Levchin, Piotr Dąbkowski, and Jeff Lawson.
The company plans to use the funds to expand its research, grow its engineering team, and scale its platform across industries where conversations play a key role in operations.
Most voice AI tools today rely on third-party models and are mainly used for simple, scripted tasks like appointment reminders, basic call routing, or password resets.

Bland’s platform is different because it uses only its own proprietary, in-house voice models. It does not allow customers to integrate external models from companies like OpenAI or Anthropic, even if they want to.
A typical Bland AI call lasts 30–45 minutes. In healthcare use cases, this could involve guiding an elderly patient through a blood pressure reading, fixing issues in real time, and deciding whether emergency services are needed.
The company now handles more than 3.5 million calls per week and processed over 175 million AI phone calls last year. It also serves over 250 enterprise customers, including Samsara, Kin Insurance, and CNO Financial Group.
Bland faces increasing competition in the voice AI space. Companies like PolyAI, a Cambridge University spinout used by FedEx, Marriott, and Caesars, raised $86 million at a $750 million valuation in December. Other players such as Replicant, Observe.ai, Retell AI, and Cognigy are also competing for enterprise customers and are often integrated into existing call center systems.
Granet said many voice AI companies lack mature, large-scale products. He noted that most are not handling high volumes of calls, and the calls they do manage are usually short or focused on simple transfers.

“Voice is one of the hardest problems in AI and Bland is one of the few companies tackling it at the level required for real-world deployment,” said Elana Lian, a partner at Dell Technologies Capital. “Their decision to build models in-house and focus on complex, high-stakes interactions has positioned them ahead of the market.”
