Colorado-Based CIRCA Scientific Appoints Jack Darby as Chief Executive Officer

Lee Geist will move into the role of Chief Operating Officer and will continue serving on the company's Board of Directors.

Jack Darby joins CIRCA Scientific as the company begins a new phase of commercial growth after receiving recent U.S. FDA clearances for its CrossWise™ RF Transseptal Access System and PeriCross™ Epicardial Access Kit.

Along with its esophageal temperature monitoring technology, these products give CIRCA a strong portfolio of cardiovascular access solutions for transseptal access, epicardial access, and esophageal protection used in complex heart procedures.

With several products now available in the market, CIRCA Scientific is focused on increasing adoption of its cardiovascular technologies and developing new solutions that make heart procedures easier, and more effective. The appointment of Jack Darby is part of the company's plan to accelerate growth, and strengthen its commercial business.

Darby has more than 30 years of experience in the cardiovascular medical device industry. He has successfully launched new medical technologies, built high-performing teams, and expanded the use of innovative products by physicians.

Before joining CIRCA, Darby served as Vice President of Medtronic's Cardiovascular Commercial Office and previously as CEO of Svelte Medical Systems. He also held leadership roles at Medrad Interventional, AGA Medical, and Cordis, and is a former Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Lee Geist will become Chief Operating Officer, where he will lead the company's operations and support its growth strategy while remaining on the Board of Directors. As CEO, he helped grow CIRCA Scientific and led the development and FDA clearance of the CrossWise™ RF Transseptal Access System and PeriCross™ Epicardial Access Kit.
