Doctronic, a NYC-based provider of an AI system legally authorized to practice medicine in the United States, has raised $40 million in a Series B funding round led by Abstract and Lightspeed Venture Partners.
The round also saw participation from existing investors, including Union Square Ventures, Seven Stars, Mantis, and Tusk Ventures.
The funding round increased the total amount to $65 million.
The company plans to use the funds to grow its operations and continue developing its products.
Doctronic, the first AI system legally allowed to practice medicine in the United States, has seen rapid growth. In less than six months after its Series A funding, the company grew 15 times, achieved strong annual revenue, and nearly tripled its repeat-patient rate. It now has over 300,000 weekly users. In December, it became the first AI platform to renew prescriptions under Utah’s AI regulatory program automatically. Doctronic works with health systems, insurers, and employers, while also offering its platform directly to millions of users nationwide.

Doctronic operates its own clinical practice, is licensed in all 50 states, complies with HIPAA, and is available 24/7. It can access patient records and medication history, and check for drug interactions, giving it strong data advantages and helping it deliver high-quality clinical performance.
Doctronic is working with regulators in other states and countries to expand its AI prescription services beyond Utah. It has also partnered with major health systems, service providers, and employers.
Unlike general AI tools that only give health information, Doctronic takes responsibility for patient care. Its platform uses multiple specialized AI systems, guided by doctors, to make clinical decisions. Each use helps improve its data and accuracy over time. In places like Utah, where it operates independently, Doctronic also has a unique AI medical malpractice insurance.
Doctronic is available 24/7 on its website and mobile apps. AI consultations are free and provide patients with four possible diagnoses, treatment options, and medical reports they can use anywhere. Patients can also choose to speak with licensed doctors through video visits at any time, either using insurance or for $39.
Ramtin Naimi from Abstract said Doctronic has shown that AI can improve healthcare at scale. He noted that its success in Utah proved its clinical quality, and its strong growth showed high demand. He added that what makes Doctronic different is that it takes responsibility for patient outcomes, not just providing information.
Faraz Fatemi from Lightspeed Venture Partners said Doctronic’s growing users, revenue, and partnerships show it is a leader in AI-powered healthcare. He explained that its AI works safely in real medical settings and can handle patient care at a large scale.
Founded by Dr. Adam Oskowitz and Matt Pavelle, Doctronic created one of the first AI systems trusted to make clinical decisions independently. In December, it launched prescription renewal services in Utah, allowing patients to get medication refills directly through AI. The system supports many medications and includes strict safety measures, such as 24/7 support from licensed doctors for complex cases.
Pavelle said the funding demonstrates Doctronic’s strong market position, with large user scale and a high-quality AI clinical model. He explained that health systems use it as a digital entry point to guide patients and keep care within their networks, while insurers see it as a reliable, cost effective primary care solution. The new funding will help the company expand into hospitals, digital health platforms, and insurance partners, while continuing to serve millions of users directly.
Dr. Oskowitz said their AI is not only faster and more affordable than traditional care, but also more detailed. It performs many safety checks for each prescription, something that would take a doctor much longer. He added that their high treatment accuracy comes from real patient use, and that patient return rates have nearly tripled, showing people continue to trust and use the service.
