Flutterwave , a leading payments technology provider in Africa, announced the expansion of its Send App service to 49 states in the U.S. through a partnership with MainStreet Bank , a subsidiary of MainStreet Bancshares Inc.
Flutterwave’s Send App makes it faster, easier, and more affordable to transfer money from Africans in the diaspora to their family and friends back home. Other key features of Send App include real-time support and exchange rate updates, an activity section that tracks transactions in real-time, and a new coupon and referral code section.
Remittances to Africa have doubled over the past decade, reaching an estimated $100 billion by 2022 , according to the United Nations, which helps pay medical bills, school fees and living expenses for an estimated 200 million Africans.
