SUMMARY
- Foundry Robotics raised $100 million in Series A funding.
- The funds will support factory expansion.
- Foundry Robotics builds AI-powered factories.
Foundry Robotics, an Emeryville, CA-based provider of an autonomous assembly platform for advanced manufacturing, has raised $100 million in a Series A funding round.
The round also saw participation from Khosla Ventures, Red Glass Ventures, SE Ventures, Wing VC, Axiom Ventures, Hanabi, and Zero Shot Fund.
The company will use the funding to expand its Emeryville facility, deploy AI models in real-world manufacturing, and grow its robotics research, engineering, and factory operations teams.
What is Foundry Robotics?
Foundry Robotics builds and operates autonomous factories that use AI-powered robots to assemble complex products. Its manufacturing-as-a-service model allows customers to move from product design to production in weeks without investing in new production lines or expensive retooling.

The company uses physical AI to train robots for different assembly tasks. Its robotic cells can be adapted to manufacture products such as drones, ground robots, satellites, underwater vehicles, and other complex electronic and mechanical equipment.
FoundryOS connects the robots, factory operations, and cloud systems through a single platform. Data from each production run feeds back into its AI models, helping improve performance and allowing the same robotic cells to handle different products.
How Much Funding Has Foundry Robotics Raised?
Foundry Robotics has raised $100 million in its Series A round. The company has not disclosed its total funding raised before this investment or details of any previous funding rounds.
Who Invested in Foundry Robotics’ Series A?
Marlinspike Partners led the Series A funding round.
The other participating investors were:
- Khosla Ventures
- Red Glass Ventures
- SE Ventures
- Wing VC
- Axiom Ventures
- Hanabi
- Zero Shot Fund
Why the Funding Matters
Foundry Robotics plans to use the capital to expand its Emeryville manufacturing facility and speed up deploying its AI models in production environments.
The company will also expand its robotics research, engineering, and factory operations teams. These investments are intended to support its autonomous manufacturing platform, and help meet demand from defense and commercial customers.
Who founded Foundry Robotics?
Foundry Robotics was founded by Adarsh Kulkarni and Emmanuel Lamacchia. The company is headquartered in Emeryville, California.
Its team combines robotics researchers, AI and software engineers, and manufacturing specialists who work together to develop and improve its technology directly on the factory floor.
“We believe the factories that revive America’s manufacturing sector will need to be rethought from the ground up rather than retrofitting one aspect in an existing factory,” said Adarsh Kulkarni, Founder and CEO of Foundry Robotics. “Our approach is to own the entire final assembly stack and integrate intelligence at every layer – own the buildings that manufacture for our customers while orienting them for robotics deployment.
“The next era of industrial strength will belong to nations that can turn new designs into finished hardware the fastest,” said Mislav Tolusic, Managing Partner at Marlinspike. “Defense and industrial equipment manufacturers urgently need more domestic assembly capacity, and Foundry is delivering. Their AI-powered factory offers scalable and flexible assembly capacity.
Market and Business Growth
Foundry Robotics has expanded its manufacturing footprint twentyfold to a 130,000-square-foot facility in Emeryville.
The company serves defense and commercial industries, focusing on high-value, complex products where manufacturing capacity is constrained. Its applications include drones, autonomous vehicle subassemblies, wire harnesses, underwater vehicles, telecommunications and data centre infrastructure, ground robots, rugged computers, and satellites.
What Happens Next?
Foundry Robotics plans to expand its Emeryville facility, deploy more AI models in real-world manufacturing, and increase its research, engineering, and factory operations teams.
The company will continue developing its autonomous factory platform to support flexible assembly across defense and commercial manufacturing, with the aim of helping customers move from design to production more quickly.
