Graphon AI, a San Francisco, CA-based developer of a pre-model intelligence and relational representation layer for enterprise AI, has raised $8.3 million in a seed funding round led by Arvind Gupta of Novera Ventures, with participation from the Perplexity Fund, Samsung Next, GS Futures, Hitachi Ventures, Gaia Ventures, B37 Ventures, and Aurum Partners.
The company plans to use the funds to develop its relational data platform, improve its multimodal graph technology, and expand its infrastructure to support enterprise-level AI agent systems.
Today’s AI models are very powerful, but they have a key limitation: they can process only small amounts of data at a time. Even advanced large language models are limited to about 1 million tokens, while organizations store far more information across documents, videos, logs, and databases. Retrieval systems like RAG can help find relevant information, but they still struggle to understand deeper relationships across different datasets.
Graphon solves this by working before data ever enters the model. Its system automatically maps how information is connected across video, audio, documents, images and structured data, as well as real world sources like devices, cameras, machines, and enterprise systems. This creates a persistent, scalable layer of connected context that works with any AI model or agent, enabling more powerful and efficient applications.

Jennifer Chayes, Dean of the College of Computing, Data Science, and Society at UC Berkeley, and Christian Borgs, the UC Berkeley computer science professor who coined the term graphon – both Technical Advisors to Graphon – said: “Graphon’s technology automatically discovers relationships across data and treats that structure as a first-class citizen. We’ve known that the future of AI would depend on understanding structure beyond tokens; their continuous multimodal graph representation unlocks a new paradigm of system models.”
"AI has spent the last decade learning to mimic language," said Graphon Founder, and CEO Arbaaz Khan. "But the world is not made of tokens, it’s made of relationships. By preserving that structure, we make foundation models more accurate and more useful at enterprise scale. An LLM with Graphon is better than an LLM alone. We are not replacing models we’re amplifying them.”
“Graphon changes where the intelligence happens,” said Arvind Gupta, Founder and Managing Director at Novera Ventures, who made Graphon the first investment from the flagship fund. “Most companies are trying to build ever-larger models. Graphon is improving the layer between raw enterprise data and the model itself. That gives today’s foundation models a much better understanding of complex data—and makes them far more capable without needing to be bigger.”
About Graphon.ai
Founded in 2025, by Arbaaz Khan, Clark Zhang and Deepak Mishra Graphon.ai is building a pre model intelligence layer for enterprise Artificial Intelligence AI. The company turn's raw multimodal data into structured, persistent memory so foundation model's can reason across connected systems instead of isolated inputs.
