Milliways Raises $3M in Funding

Milliways, a NYC-based plastic-free chewing gum brand, has raised $3 million in funding, led by Mehmet Yüksek and Leon Amram.

It has raised $10M since launch and expanded to more than 10,000 stores worldwide.

Milliways uses seven naturally derived ingredients and meets growing demand for clean-label, better-for-you options as diets change and concerns rise about microplastics in traditional gum. As conventional gum faces more scrutiny, natural alternatives are growing faster than the overall gum market.

The latest funding will be used to boost marketing, expand retail distribution, and increase inventory as the brand builds on its strong first year in the U.S. market.

Now one of the UK’s largest gum brands, Milliways has raised $10 million since launch and expanded to more than 10,000 stores worldwide. Just over a year after entering the U.S., it is sold in more than 2,000 stores nationwide, including Sprouts, Meijer, Hy-Vee, Raley’s, and Fred Meyer, and is the top-selling plastic-free gum brand, according to recent SPINS data.
