AI-powered creative studio, Captions has raised $60 million in Series C funding, led by Index Ventures, with participation from our existing investors Kleiner Perkins, Sequoia Capital, and Andreessen Horowitz.

New investors include Adobe Ventures, HubSpot Ventures, and Jared Leto. This financing brings our total capital raised to over $100 million and values the company at $500 million.
The recent launch of AI Creator, the first 3D avatars designed for content creation, marks a milestone for Captions as we’ve evolved from letting users record and edit “talking videos” — videos where creators speak to the camera directly — to generating them entirely. Similarly, we recently launched AI Edit, where users can watch AI edit their videos in one tap.
These innovative features catalyze a new age for creativity, empowering an entirely new group of creators who otherwise may have been blocked by the barriers that come with recording or editing. Looking to the future, Captions plans to invest $100 million into advancing generative video research, here in New York City.
