[Funding alert] CA-based Popolarium Secures $2Million in Seed Funding

Popolarium games studio secures $2million in seed funding. The leaders of the funding round were Dave Nemetz, Pareto, Palm Drive Capital, The Data Economics Company, Eden Chen through the a16z Scout Fund, Reverb Ventures, and the Society of Entertainment, which included Bryan Goldberg, Dan Black, Dhani Jones, and Avi Ben-Menahem.

The leaders of the funding round were Dave Nemetz, Pareto, Palm Drive Capital, The Data Economics Company, Eden Chen through the a16z Scout Fund, Reverb Ventures, and the Society of Entertainment, which included Bryan Goldberg, Dan Black, Dhani Jones, and Avi Ben-Menahem.

The money will be used by the business to help Chaos Agents’ public Alpha launch in the summer of 2024. Established by Jon Bankard, the former product lead for Hearthstone and other games at Blizzard, including World of Warcraft and Diablo; Arka Ray, from the founding team of Xbox Live and The Data Economics Company; and Richard Garfield, the creator of Magic: The Gathering, King of Tokyo, Netrunner, and other popular games.

The goal of Popularium’s founding was to create games that push the limits of innovation in game design and economics, all the while producing engaging experiences for players over extended periods of time.

Chaos Agents, the debut game from Popularium, is an auto-battler royale that blends the popular MOBA and battle royale genres with the dynamic Autobattler genre to create a dynamic, profound tactical experience that is easy to learn but requires a lifetime to master.
