Radical, a high-altitude solar-powered aircraft maker, secures $4.5million in seed funding. Scout Ventures led the round, while Y Combinator and Inflection Mercury Fund also participated.
The firm plans to scale its technology and grow its staff with the money. It was , led by CEO James Thomas and CTO Cyriel Notteboom, builds solar-powered, high-altitude aircraft that can fly over certain regions for months at a time without having to land in the stratosphere.

With this capacity, the business is able to maintain zero emissions while offering continuous cell service, gathering high-resolution pictures, and transporting weather and climate sensors. This might revolutionise several industries, including environmental monitoring and telecommunications.
