River Markets Raises $8.5M to Build Prediction Market Infrastructure for Institutions

Aug 14, 2026 | By Team SR

River Markets, a New York-based financial infrastructure startup for prediction markets, has raised $8.5 million in Seed funding to expand its platform for institutional traders.

SUMMARY

  • $8.5M Seed funding led by Haun Ventures.
  • Building unified trading and risk-management infrastructure for prediction markets.
  • Funds will support engineering, institutional trading tools and business expansion.

The funding round was led by Haun Ventures, with participation from Y Combinator, Coinbase Ventures, Qube Research & Technologies (QRT), UFO Holdings, TENET, Humbition, Kima Ventures, Cherry Ventures, Stack Asset Management and Perpetual Strategies. Several angel investors from firms including Citadel, Google, NVIDIA, JPMorgan, Tower Research Capital and Novig also participated.

Founded by CEO Oscar Levy and CTO Antonin Parrot, River Markets provides trading and risk-management infrastructure that allows professional traders to access multiple prediction markets through a single platform.

Its technology offers multi-venue connectivity, consolidated capital management, unified risk metrics and trading tools designed to help institutions execute large orders with lower price impact.

River Markets said its platform is already used by several major trading desks on Kalshi and Polymarket. The company is also on track to surpass hundreds of millions of dollars in annualised trading volume by the end of 2026.

The startup will use the new funding to hire more engineers, improve trading infrastructure, develop capital-efficiency and margin models, and expand its sales and operations teams.

River Markets was founded after Levy and Parrot, who previously worked in quantitative trading at firms including BlackRock and Morgan Stanley, identified a gap in the fragmented prediction market ecosystem. The company aims to make prediction markets easier for financial institutions to trade at scale.

“They have this ability to speak both to this esoteric market language and… solve the problems that traders are facing today in prediction markets, but they’re [also] thinking about it in a way that is informed by the experience they had building traditional trading tech,” said Mark Beylin, an investor at Haun Ventures.

“This transition from mainstream retail to institutional can’t really be achieved with today’s consumer interfaces. That’s [why] somebody like us needs to come in and spend the time to make these accessible and familiar for all of these existing institutions and large traders,” Co-founded and CEO Oscar Levy said.
