The company plans to use the funds to support:
- Expanding partnerships with Medicaid programs, state governments, schools and healthcare organizations.
- Continuing investment in peer mentor training, clinical oversight, and youth focused outcomes.
- Improving the product and platform to boost accessibility and engagement.
- Growing the team to support long-term impact and sustainability.
“This funding lets us expand a model that’s already working—reaching young people when they need help most,” said Patrick Gilligan, Founder and CEO of Somethings. “Peer connection is powerful. With proper training, clinical oversight, and technology, it can transform how young people experience mental health support—and do so at scale.”
Somethings was created to transform how teens access mental health care, offering a new approach focused on human connection relatability, and early intervention. The platform makes it easy for teens to connect with people who truly understand what they’re going through. Somethings is a digital mental health platform for teens and young adults.
The platform uses AI-responsibly to expand human care. Some technologies never interact directly, with youth, instead, they give peer mentors tools to improve engagement support safety checks and quickly escalate to clinical help when needed. The technology strengthens human connection rather than replacing it.
With youth suicide up 62% and one in five high school students seriously considering it (CDC, 2023), young people’s mental health needs are growing faster than the systems meant to help them. Traditional approaches—often reactive, clinical, and hard to access—fail to reach youth early, when support is most critical.
Somethings is designed for today’s teens. Through a secure, HIPAA-compliant mobile app, young people can connect with peer mentors on demand, even after school and late at night—when feelings of isolation and distress are often strongest. There are no waitlists, no travel barriers, and no stigma—just immediate, relatable support in a format teens trust.
