Terra Industries Closes $52M Seed Round, Expands to London

Terra Industries, an autonomous defense technology startup founded in Nigeria, has raised an additional $18 million, bringing its total seed funding to $52 million.

The latest financing included participation from existing investors such as 8VC, Silent Ventures, Nova Global, Belief Capital and SV Angel, along with new investor Norleo Space Investments.

Founded in 2024, Terra plans to use the funding to expand manufacturing capacity in Africa, open its first international office in London and accelerate deployments across the Global South.

Founded in 2024 by Nathan Nwachuku and Maxwell Maduka, Terra Industries develops autonomous systems designed to help governments and infrastructure operators monitor and protect critical assets across land, air and maritime environments.

Terra's funding history has grown rapidly since its founding.

The company initially raised $11.75 million from 8VC and participating investors including Lux Capital, Valor Equity Partners and Silent Ventures. It later secured a $22 million seed extension led by Lux Capital.

The latest $18 million financing brings the company's total seed funding to $52 million.
