Alex Haro Co-Founded Hubble Network Raises $200M in Series C Funding

Hubble Network, a Seattle, WA-based provider of a satellite network platform for Bluetooth LE devices, has raised $200 million in a Series C funding round, led by Smith Point Capital, bringing the total amount to $300 million at a $1.6 billion valuation.

SUMMARY

  • Hubble Network raised $200M in Series C funding.
  • Funds will support satellite network expansion.
  • Hubble provides satellite connectivity for Bluetooth devices.

The round also saw participation from Seraphim, Carthona Capital, Earthshot Ventures, Y Combinator, and RPM Ventures.

The company plans to use the funding to expand its operations and development efforts.

What is Hubble Network?

Hubble Network provides satellite connectivity for devices that already use Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). Its technology allows companies to turn the Bluetooth radio inside a device into a global beacon through a firmware update, without adding new hardware.

The platform is designed for tracking assets beyond the reach of traditional cellular networks. For new devices, Hubble says satellite connectivity can add less than 50 cents to the bill of materials.

The company serves businesses that need connectivity for equipment and assets operating in remote areas.

How Much Funding Has Hubble Network Raised?

Hubble Network has raised $300 million in total funding following its $200 million Series C round.

The latest round was led by Smith Point Capital, with participation from Seraphim, Carthona Capital, Earthshot Ventures, Y Combinator, and RPM Ventures.

Who Invested in Hubble Network’s Series C?

The Series C round was led by Smith Point Capital.

Other participating investors included:

  • Seraphim
  • Carthona Capital
  • Earthshot Ventures
  • Y Combinator
  • RPM Ventures

Why the Funding Matters

Hubble will use the new funding to expand its operations and continue developing its satellite and terrestrial network.

The company aims to make satellite connectivity available to more devices without requiring dedicated satellite hardware.

Who founded Hubble Network?

Hubble Network was founded in 2021 by Alex Haro and is headquartered in Seattle, Washington.

The company describes its technology as a satellite-powered Bluetooth network that combines terrestrial connectivity with its satellite constellation.

Leadership Comments

“When we said we’d connect Bluetooth chips to satellites, most of the industry said the physics wouldn’t allow it,” said Alex Haro, CEO and co-founder of Hubble Network. “Today we’re turning that early skepticism into a global opportunity. Alongside our partners and investors who believe in our vision, we’re poised to take the next big leap toward a global satellite network that delivers affordable, low-power, ubiquitous connectivity for billions of devices.”

“Until now, the cost and complexity of connectivity limited visibility to only the most valuable assets,” said Keith Block, Founder and CEO of Smith Point Capital. “Hubble Network has built the foundational infrastructure that the physical world is missing: a global network extending Bluetooth-to-satellite reach to provide comprehensive tracking and status monitoring for virtually any asset worldwide, and creating new business models for mission-critical verticals.

Market and Business Growth

Hubble currently operates six satellites in low Earth orbit and is targeting 60 satellites by 2030.

Its Terrestrial Network spans more than 100 million gateways across 170 countries and covers 3 million square miles.

More than 500,000 devices are currently active on the network, representing more than 10 times the number from a year earlier.

Hubble's pilot customers include Samsara, which is working to extend satellite connectivity to physical operations in remote locations.

What Happens Next?

Hubble Network plans to expand its operations and continue developing its satellite network and connectivity platform. The company is also working toward expanding its constellation to 60 satellites by 2030.
