Cordant collects data from payment systems, bank accounts, ledgers, compliance tools, and risk systems, bringing everything together into one platform. This gives teams a clear view of what is happening, why it is happening, and whether operations are running as expected.
The platform does not move or hold money, replace existing systems, or require companies to store all their data in one place. Instead, it helps payment, compliance, risk, treasury and audit teams work together more efficiently, make better decisions, and keep a clear record of every action. This is especially valuable as banks and financial institutions adopt AI in regulated environments.
Payment problems often happen when transactions move between different systems. A payment goes through several steps, including processing, settlement, funding, reconciliation, and sometimes refunds. Since each system only records part of the process, it can be difficult for teams to find the cause when a payment is delayed, fails or triggers a compliance issue.
Cordant brings transaction data from different systems into one place, identifies missing information or control gaps, manages exception workflows, and creates a clear audit trail. This helps teams track every step of a transaction, see who handled it and verify that the right controls were followed.
Real-time payment networks, stablecoins, digital assets, and AI-powered workflows are making financial systems more complex. Each new payment system adds more data, rules, and processes, making it harder for banks, fintech companies, custodians and other partners to share information and work together smoothly.
Cordant is building its platform with 11 design partners from banking, payments, embedded finance, cross-border payments, stablecoins, and digital assets. While these organizations work in different areas of financial services, they all face the same challenge: no single system provides a complete view of how money moves across their entire operations.
"Money moves in real time, but understanding where a transaction went, which systems and partners acted, who authorized it and whether the records agree still depends on weekly and monthly reporting," said Eric Rosenthal, CEO and co-founder of Cordant. "We built the layer that was missing; one that shows how a transaction moved across all the systems involved or where the hand-off across systems and teams breaks down. That is the gap Cordant closes."
"Bitso is building hybrid finance, bringing traditional and digital money into one system. Moving money across all of that is hard, and even with strong tooling of our own, the next hard problem is seeing the full route a payment takes and whether each step honors the rules meant to govern it," said Imran Ahmad, COO at Bitso. "We're working with Cordant as a design partner because hybrid finance needs a coordination layer between separate systems of record and the rules that govern them.
"The future of B2B payments will be defined by trust at scale,” said Chris Fuller, president of Transcard. Moving money is no longer the differentiator. Continuously proving that every payment program is operating within its SLAs, contractual obligations, and compliance requirements in real-time is. As payment ecosystems become more complex the industry needs a smarter, governed framework for operational assurance.
