Bank of America has announced that Chip McLeod, a Merrill Lynch Wealth Management senior resident director, has been appointed president of Upstate South Carolina. He succeeds Stacy Brandon, who led the market for more than 10 years and retired after a 39-year career with the company.

As president and market leader, McLeod will help connect clients, employees, and local communities with Bank of America’s full range of services. He will also work closely with the company’s eight business lines to strengthen collaboration, grow market share in Upstate South Carolina, build strong local relationships, and expand customer connections.

McLeod has more than 30 years of experience in wealth management and financial services. He joined Merrill in 2007 and currently leads the firm's operations in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where he oversees a team of 14 associates.

McLeod is actively involved in communities across South Carolina. In 2001, Governor Hodges appointed him to the Council of Advisors on Consumer Credit, where he continues to serve. He is also president of the Spartanburg Downtown Rotary and previously served as president of both the Spartanburg Estate Planning Council and the Spartanburg Philharmonic Board.
