California-Based Lyft appoints Ben Minicucci to Board of Directors

Lyft has appointed Ben Minicucci to its Board of Directors, effective July 23, 2026. Minicucci is the CEO and President of Alaska Air Group.

Ben Minicucci has more than 20 years of experience helping grow Alaska Air Group, the parent company of Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, and Horizon Air. He joined the company in 2004 after working in technical operations at Air Canada.

As CEO, Minicucci has guided Alaska Air Group through major growth and transformation, including the acquisition of Virgin America in 2016 and Hawaiian Airlines in 2024. He has also helped expand the company’s international partnerships, global presence and loyalty programs.
Ben Minicucci holds bachelor's and master's degrees in mechanical engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada and later completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. He also served for 14 years in the Canadian Armed Forces.
