California-Based Viabot Raises $24M in Series A Funding

Viabot, a Santa Clara, CA-based provider of an autonomous property-management robotics platform, has raised $24 million in a Series A funding round, led by Walden International, bringing the total amount to $43 million.

What is Viabot?

Viabot develops autonomous robots for outdoor property care and soft security services.

Its flagship Viabot One is designed to sweep and collect trash and debris up to 10 inches. It can also support services such as loitering detection and asset monitoring.

The robot uses cameras, lidar, depth sensors, DGPS, and dynamic path planning to map and navigate its surroundings. It can perform scheduled routes and adapt to changing conditions.

Viabot One can automatically return to its docking station after a scheduled run to recharge and empty collected debris into standard trash bins. It can operate using a standard 120V outlet.

The robot also features autonomous tool swapping and battery hot-swapping, allowing 12–24 hour runs. Its intelligence can be updated through remote software updates.
