One key product is Electra an AI agent designed to streamline prior authorization. This process requires health plans to check whether a treatment or procedure meets coverage requirements before it can be provided to a patient.

Electra helps organize cases and manage requests, while keeping human reviewers involved to reduce the risk of incorrect decisions. The system can approve or escalate requests but does not issue denials.

About ClarityCare

How Much Funding Has ClarityCare Raised?

ClarityCare has raised $19.8 million in total, including its latest $16.3 million Series A round. Details of its earlier funding rounds were not provided.

Who Invested in ClarityCare’s Series A?

The Series A round was led by Headline, with participation from Maverick Ventures, Transpose Platform, Firstminute Capital, Top Harvest Capital, Arthur Ventures and FJ Labs.

Why the Funding Matters

ClarityCare plans to invest in its automation technology, develop new products, expand its teams and increase customer acquisition across US healthcare networks. It also plans to scale integrations with existing electronic health record (EHR) systems.

The funding comes as healthcare payers prepare to meet federal requirements under CMS-0057-F, which aims to improve electronic health information exchange and streamline prior authorization.

Who founded ClarityCare?

ClarityCare was founded by Hermine Tranie and Alex Andrei. The company is headquartered in San Francisco, California. The founding year was not provided.

“Medicaid and Medicare Advantage plans face the most pressure from the new CMS rules,” said ClarityCare CEO Hermine Tranie in an email. “We’re continuing to grow with commercial plans as well across medical management and cost containment operations.”

Market and Business Growth

ClarityCare currently has seven customers, including health plans, third-party administrators, medical management companies and government health organizations supporting Medicaid and Medicare programmes.

The company says its workflows affect care for six million people. For one customer, Electra reduced prior authorization waiting times from 12 days to two days.

These results highlight automation's potential to reduce administrative delays in healthcare, though the reported improvement comes from one customer.

What Happens Next?

ClarityCare plans to expand its sales and engineering teams, develop its products and grow its presence across the US healthcare market, particularly in the government sector. It will also continue improving Electra and integrating its platform with existing EHR systems.
