Comstock Appoints Former Blackstone and Citigroup Leader David Hirsh to Board of Directors

Comstock Holding Companies, a developer and operator of mixed-use and transit-oriented properties in the Washington, D.C. area, has appointed David Z. Hirsh to its Board of Directors. Hirsh will serve an initial term that runs until the company’s 2027 Annual Meeting of Stockholders.

David Z. Hirsh is an experienced real estate investor with more than 30 years of experience across all major real estate sectors in many of the largest markets across the United States.

Mr. Hirsh previously served as a Managing Director at Blackstone Inc., where he spent about 16 years in the Real Estate Asset Management Group before retiring in January 2018. During that time, he oversaw and managed major real estate portfolios, including Equity Office Properties, IndCor Industrial Properties, LXR Hotels & Resorts, as well as investments in the retail and senior housing sectors.

Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Hirsh spent around 15 years at Citigroup Inc. His roles included leading the hotel asset management group and working in corporate finance, where he specialized in corporate real estate and project lending.

Mr. Hirsh currently serves as an independent director and Chair of the Audit Committee at Seaport Entertainment Group Inc. He also previously served on the board of SILVERspac Inc. from 2021 to 2023.

In addition, he is an Independent Advisor to Town House Partners and served as Vice Chairman of Sterling Investors from 2022 to 2024, after joining the firm as a Strategic Advisor in 2020. He is also an Adjunct Professor and Vice Chair of the Advisory Board at the New York University Schack Institute of Real Estate.

Mr. Hirsh has been actively involved in philanthropy throughout his career, holding leadership positions with organizations such as the THANC Foundation and CaringKind. He has also served as a trustee of Pace University and the Madison Square Park Conservancy.

He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Public Accounting from Pace University and a Master of Science in Real Estate Development and Investment from New York University.
