Golden Child, a Miami, FL-based dog food brand, has raised $37 million in a funding round led by Atomic, A*, and Redpoint Ventures. Golden Child is coming out of stealth to launch a new type of fresh dog food. The company is building a new food system with nutrient-rich meals that offer health benefits, supported by its own supply chain that meets the same high standards as human food delivery.
To create a new, healthier option for dogs, Golden Child assembled a team that includes a board-certified veterinary nutritionist, a nutrition scientist, a trained chef, and a supply chain expert. The team brings experience from companies like The Farmer’s Dog, HelloFresh, Royal Canin, Nestlé Purina, and Pepperidge Farm, combining science, cooking expertise, and strong operations to improve pet nutrition.
Golden Child develops its recipes using veterinary nutrition science, culinary research, and strict production standards to create balanced meals suited to dogs’ needs. All recipes are made in U.S.-based facilities that follow high food safety and quality standards.
Golden Child focuses on creating nutritious meals to support dogs’ long-term health. Its chef-made, vet-developed recipes include “Mains” and “Drizzles” that enhance flavor and support digestion, joint health, overall vitality, and a healthy coat.

“Mains” are the main protein meals, offered in different flavors and tailored to a dog’s activity and energy needs. They include ingredients such as prebiotic fiber for digestion, omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids for skin and coat health, antioxidants and other key nutrients. “Drizzles” are nutrient-rich toppers with ingredients such as collagen, biotin, eggshell membrane, and vitamins. They add extra flavor, and can be used with Golden Child’s meals or mixed with a dog’s regular food.

Golden Child is entering a fast-growing market, with the U.S. fresh pet food category expected to increase by $3.2 billion by 2029. With 68 million households owning a dog and younger generations like Gen Z and millennials making up more than half of pet owners, demand for higher-quality pet food continues to rise.
“A meal is an expression of love said Chef Erin Acevedo VP of Culinary. “We approached Drizzles the way we would a finishing sauce in a restaurant kitchen, layered, intentional, and transformative. They are not just an add on, they complete the dish.”
“This is the most scientifically comprehensive fresh food on the market,” said Dr. Blaire Aldridge, Vice President of Research & Development. “Golden Child has prioritized nutrition not just for freshness but to create a meal that is packed with ultimate goodness for the pet through ‘nutraceuticals and whole food.’”
“We created Golden Child because fresh alone isn’t enough,” said Quentin Lacornerie, Golden Child Co-Founder. “Too much of the category has focused on refrigeration as the primary innovation. Our founding team, which includes veterinary nutrition and supply chain experts, has taken a thoughtful approach from the outset to making dog food of the highest quality, with a focus on digestibility, nutrition, and taste. Pets deserve meals that are crafted with the same care, intention, and standards we hope for ourselves, and that’s what we’re delivering with Golden Child.”
