Cypher AI, a Cambridge, MA-based company building AI-native digital infrastructure for life science R&D, has raised $2 million in a Seed funding round led by MaC Venture Capital.
The round also saw participation from Epsilon Ventures, Connecticut Innovations, Sparta Group, and LiquidMetal Ventures.
The company plans to use the funds to grow its operations and continue product development.
Cypher AI is building a new software platform for biotech research teams that replaces disconnected manual systems with one intelligent platform for experiment design, execution, analysis, and vendor management.

Cypher AI has already gained early traction, working with biotech companies such as DropGenie, Flock Bio, Bioqore, and WayBio that are upgrading their research and development systems. So far, more than 800 scientists have used the platform to run over 100,000 laboratory and computational workflows.
Cypher AI is developing a unified platform for life science research and development that combines LIMS, ELN, workflow management, and AI-powered analysis into one system for biotech teams. Instead of using separate static tools, the platform is designed to create flexible research environments that can adapt as scientific work changes and grows.
“Cypher AI is building foundational infrastructure for the next generation of life sciences companies and we’re excited to support them in their mission,” said Adrian Fenty, leading investor at MaC Venture Capital. “Cypher AI is not only improving lab software – it’s rethinking the operating system for life science R&D. That shift has massive implications for speed, accuracy, and scale in biotech.”
“The next generation of biotech won’t scale linearly. It can’t. The biology is too complex and the timelines are too compressed,” said Josh Hinckley, PhD, CEO and co-founder of Bioqore. “What Cypher AI enables is an AI-native software foundation that lets companies like Bioqore grow in a fundamentally different way, where adding a new organism or a new client doesn’t mean rebuilding the stack.”

“Life science R&D today still relies heavily on outdated tools such as spreadsheets and fragmented documentation systems that were never designed for modern scientific workflows,” said Yaoyu Yang, PhD, Founder and CEO of Cypher AI. “We are replacing that tech stack with an AI-native platform built for dynamic scientific environments, enabling researchers to design experiments, coordinate execution, manage vendors, and analyze results within a unified intelligent workflow layer.”
