What is Hyphenate?
Hyphenate develops an autonomous finance platform that automates accounting and financial operations for businesses. Its software connects with existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, banks, and other business tools, allowing finance teams to manage workflows through a shared platform.

The platform uses AI agents to handle tasks across five areas: order-to-cash, treasury, general ledger accounting, procure-to-pay, and reporting and insights. These workflows include invoicing, collections, cash reconciliation, revenue recognition, accounts payable, accruals and financial reporting.
Rather than replacing a company’s existing systems, Hyphenate works alongside them to reduce repetitive work and help finance teams manage operations more efficiently.
How Much Funding Has Hyphenate Raised?
Hyphenate has raised $54 million in total funding.
The company secured $9 million in seed funding approximately one year before its latest round. It has now raised another $45 million through its Series A round.
Who Invested in Hyphenate’s Series A?
Nexus Venture Partners led the $45 million Series A round.
Other participating investors include B Capital and existing seed investors Foundation Capital, BoldCap, and Gaia Ventures.
Why the Funding Matters
Hyphenate plans to use the funding to scale its multi-agent software platform, and expand its engineering team. It will also expand its autonomous workflows across strategic finance functions and increase adoption of its modules among enterprise customers.
The investment comes as businesses use the platform to automate larger parts of their finance operations.
Who founded Hyphenate?
Hyphenate was founded in 2025 by Ajay Krishna Amudan and Ramnandan Krishnamurthy. The company is headquartered in New York City.
“Every finance team carries a long list of work it does because somebody has to,” said Ramnandan Krishnamurthy, co-founder and CEO of Hyphenate. “Our customers are watching that list shrink in production. Once a team sees the system handle one workflow to an auditor’s standard, they hand it the next one.
Synthesia, the AI video platform, is rolling Hyphenate out across its finance function. “As an AI company, we expect our own operations to run on AI. The Hyphenate platform has improved every functional area of our accounting and finance operations. We replaced point solutions with an autonomous finance platform that understands our business. Now the team focuses on exceptions and analysis, which helps make decisions faster,” said Daniel Kim, CFO of Synthesia.
Market and Business Growth
Since its $9 million seed round, Hyphenate has crossed multi-million-dollar annual recurring revenue (ARR). Its AI agents handle work across hundreds of entities thousands of bank accounts and millions of transactions daily.
According to the company, customers report 90% less repetitive finance work and 75% fewer audit exceptions. Around 40% of customers expand their use of the platform within their first year, with some increasing adoption by two to three times. The average customer uses six modules.
Hyphenate also reported results from two customers. Consumer goods company Mini Melts USA recovered 16,640 hours of finance work annually within three months of deploying the platform.
What Happens Next?
Hyphenate plans to expand its engineering team, scale its platform, and deepen automation across enterprise finance operations.
It also aims to increase the use of its modules across existing customers and help businesses automate more financial workflows while maintaining oversight of important decisions.
