SUMMARY
- Maxinsights raised $30 million in seed funding.
- The funds will support growth and technology development.
- Maxinsights collects real-world data to train AI and robots.
Maxinsights, a Santa Clara, CA-based provider of a data layer service for physical AI, raised $30M in Seed funding.
The round was led by Peak XV with participation from Tola Capital, South Park Commons, INCE Capital, and Alumni Ventures.
The company will use the funding to expand its data collection infrastructure, improve its software and hardware, and support global operations. It has also launched two new products, MaxLoop and MaxGlove, to improve how real-world data is collected for AI and robotics.
What is Maxinsights?
Maxinsights builds a data platform that turns real-world human activities into training data for physical AI systems and robots. The company collects footage of people performing everyday tasks in homes, restaurants, and hotels.

Unlike systems that record tasks in controlled environments, Maxinsights captures work at natural speed, and in real settings. This helps AI models learn from different environments and unexpected situations.
The company manages the process from data collection to quality control, annotation, and delivery. It uses proprietary models to prepare the footage for AI training.

How Much Funding Has Maxinsights Raised?
Maxinsights has raised $30 million in its seed funding round. The company has not disclosed its total funding raised to date or details of any previous funding rounds.
Who Invested in Maxinsights’ Seed Round?
Peak XV led the $30 million seed round. Other participating investors include:
- Tola Capital
- South Park Commons
- INCE Capital
- Alumni Ventures
Why the Funding Matters
Maxinsights plans to use the fresh capital to expand its data collection infrastructure, develop its software and hardware technologies, and support operations across global markets.
The funding will also support its efforts to improve the collection of real-world data for physical AI applications. By managing collection and processing in house, the company aims to maintain control over data quality, and delivery.
Who founded Maxinsights?
Maxinsights was founded by Kun Wang and Yuguang Yuan. The company is headquartered in Santa Clara, California.
It focuses on building the data infrastructure needed to train physical AI systems using footage of real human activities.
“We built the whole pipeline ourselves, from the hand-tracking models to the platform that scores every operator's footage as it arrives, because nobody was going to sell us the pieces that make messy real-world data usable,” said Yuguang (YG) Yuan, founder and CEO of Maxinsights.
“Robots need to learn from the complexity and variation of everyday life, and carefully controlled datasets alone cannot capture that,” said Johnson Wang, cofounder of Genesis AI.
Market and Business Growth
Maxinsights has captured more than 2 million hours of footage, including 1.5 million hours of model-ready data available for delivery.
Maxinsights has also introduced two products to expand its data collection capabilities:
- MaxLoop: An agent-in-the-loop system that scores and corrects data collection as it happens.
- MaxGlove: A sensor glove designed to capture tactile touch and force data for AI and robotics training.
The company says its own camera hardware helps capture clearer footage than recordings made with standard smartphones or action cameras.
What Happens Next?
Maxinsights plans to expand its collection infrastructure, develop its technology, and grow its global operations.
The company also aims to use MaxGlove across its existing collection network, with a target of capturing 1 million hours of force data in 2027. The initiative is intended to add tactile and force information to the real-world data available for training physical AI systems.
