What is Midstream Health?
Midstream Health develops an AI-powered financial operations platform for hospitals and health systems. Its software helps healthcare organisations identify and recover money lost through missed rebates, underpayments, and contract terms that are not properly enforced.

The platform connects data from contracts, claims, purchasing, pharmacy, and payments. It then uses specialised AI agents to compare this information with actual transactions, identify missed financial opportunities, and help recover the money.
Unlike analytics tools that only highlight problems, Midstream aims to manage the process from identifying an opportunity to taking action and tracking the recovery.

Why the Funding Matters
Midstream will use the new capital to expand its platform across its existing customer network and support more health systems.
The company is targeting financial challenges faced by hospitals, where missed contract payments, unclaimed rebates, and payer underpayments can affect already limited operating margins.
Who founded Midstream Health?
Midstream Health was founded in 2023 by Sumit Kadakia and Venkat Mocherla. The company is headquartered in San Francisco, California.
“In a perfect world, revenue and cost leaders would sit down and work together every day to protect margin and mission. In reality, they don’t have the capacity or visibility to do that across every contract, every transaction, and every opportunity. That’s what we built Midstream to solve,” said Sumit Kadakia, Co-Founder and CEO of Midstream Health.
“In this environment, health systems need solutions that can improve their financial position quickly,” said Mike Spadafore, Managing Director of Valtruis. “We’re backing Midstream because it’s built first-of-its-kind infrastructure to turn complex financial data into action.
Market and Business Growth
Midstream has identified more than 1,500 financial recovery opportunities across its customer base in 2026. These include missed rebates and payer underpayments.
The company said its early partners project more than a fivefold return on investment this year. It is also on track to reach $100 million in client savings by the end of 2026.
Its customer network represents more than 250 hospitals and over $100 billion in annual operating expenses.
What Happens Next?
Midstream plans to expand its platform across its customer network and continue helping health systems recover missed revenue and reduce financial losses. Its focus areas include supply chain, pharmacy, and managed care operations.
