SCATR Corp., a Cleveland, OH-based company developing a cybersecurity platform purpose-built to protect data in motion across untrusted networks, has raised $12.6 million in a Series A funding round led by First In. The company plans to use the funds to grow its operations and continue developing its products.
The funding comes at a critical time, as nation-states and criminal groups are increasingly using “Harvest Now, Decrypt Later” attacks, in which they collect encrypted data today with the expectation of breaking it later using quantum computing. Traditional Zero Trust security focuses on controlling access at the user and device levels, but data can still be exposed while it moves across networks. SCATR was built to address this security gap.
SCATR’s Zero Trust Transit™ platform extends Zero Trust security to protect data as it moves, not just when it is accessed. It breaks up and disguises data, then sends it through multiple random paths so it looks like normal internet traffic and cannot be easily tracked or analyzed. This helps prevent attackers from collecting useful patterns or intercepting sensitive information during transit.
Unlike older solutions that require new hardware or major network changes, SCATR is fully software-based and can be added to existing security systems such as Zero Trust, SD-WAN, SASE, and cloud setups. It can be deployed in less than 24 hours with no complex setup or training required.

“Adversaries have been harvesting encrypted traffic for years, and they are waiting for the moment they can decrypt it. The operators and analysts we built this for do not have the luxury of waiting. Our customer data runs across contested, untrusted, and adversarial networks every single day, and every data packet that moves is a target. Encryption does not change that. SCATR does.” Said Matt Carpenter, CEO and Co-Founder, SCATR Corp."
SCATR addresses a part of the security stack that has received little attention, given its risk. The threat to data in motion is real, it is accelerating, and organizations across defense and enterprise are running out of time to close the exposure. SCATR has the patents, operational proof, and, most importantly, the team to own this category and execute at scale. We backed them because we believe Zero Trust Transit becomes a standard layer of every serious security architecture, and SCATR is the company that defined it.” Said Renny McPherson, Managing Partner, First In."
ABOUT SCATR CORP.
Founded in 2018 by Matt Carpenter, SCATR is a U.S. cybersecurity company created by former defense, intelligence, and cryptography experts. It developed the Zero Trust Transit™ category to secure data while it moves across networks. The platform uses patented technologies such as Data Camouflage™, multi-path routing, and AI-driven obfuscation to protect information in transit and has been deployed in over 50 locations worldwide. It is fully software-based and designed to defend against surveillance, network attacks, and advanced threats without requiring hardware changes.
