Vir Biotechnology Appoints Brent Sabatini as Interim Principal Financial Officer

Vir Biotechnology has appointed Brent Sabatini, Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer as Interim Principal Financial Officer, effective 23 July.

Jason O'Byrne is leaving the company to pursue another opportunity and will stay until August 3 to support a smooth handover. Vir Biotechnology has also started a search for a new Chief Financial Officer.

Brent Sabatini has been Senior Vice President, and Chief Accounting Officer at Vir Biotechnology since February 2023. He has more than 20 years of experience in finance and accounting, and previously served as Head of Finance at Capsida Biotherapeutics.

Before that, he spent 17 years at Amgen, where he held leadership roles in accounting, tax, and financial planning. Sabatini is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a bachelor's degree in Accountancy from California State University, Northridge, and an MBA from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business.
