Investment Management Ara Partners Appoints Masumi Waida as Chief Financial Officer

Waida brings more than 20 years of experience in investment management. He joins Ara from ACON Investments, a middle-market private equity firm where he served as CFO.

At Ara, Waida will oversee corporate and fund finance, accounting, tax, financial reporting and treasury. He will also help build the firm’s finance and operations functions as it expands its private equity, infrastructure and energy strategies.

Before joining ACON, Waida served as Managing Director and CFO of the Mount Kellett Funds at Fortress Investment Group. Earlier, he was a Vice President at Lehman Brothers, where he managed a range of private equity and hedge fund products.

Waida holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta and is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA) in Canada.
