ChargePoint Appoints John Saffrett as Executive Vice President

ChargePoint has appointed John Saffrett as Executive Vice President, and Managing Director for Europe. He will lead the company’s growth strategy across European markets.

Saffrett will oversee sales, customer relationships, partnerships, and market expansion across the region. He has more than 25 years of leadership experience in the automotive, fleet management, and financial services industries.

Saffrett has served on ChargePoint’s Advisory Council since March 2026. In his new role, he will report directly to CEO Rick Wilmer.

Most recently, John Saffrett served as Global Deputy CEO of Ayvens, where he helped bring together two major fleet management companies into one business operating across more than 40 countries.

Before that, he held senior roles at ALD Automotive, including Chief Operating Officer and Chief Administration Officer, overseeing sales, marketing, product development, innovation, and technology. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly a decade in senior IT and transformation roles.

The appointment highlights ChargePoint’s focus on expanding its presence across Europe, where demand for reliable and scalable EV charging solutions is growing.

ChargePoint is also investing in its European business, recently launching the Express Solo DC charger and partnering with automakers including Mercedes-Benz and Ford Pro.

"His deep experience in fleet management, digital transformation and large scale operations combined with his existing knowledge of ChargePoint as an Advisory Council member positions him to hit the ground running.
