Neuron Industries Secures $10M in Seed Funding

SUMMARY

  • Neuron Industries raised $10 million.
  • The funds will support expansion.
  • Neuron builds AI tools for industrial automation.

Neuron Industries, a Gardena, CA-based industrial hardware and software company building an AI-native industrial controller, has raised $10 million in a Seed funding round.

The round was co-led by FCVC and Obvious Ventures with participation from Y Combinator, Thin Line Capital, Zee Prime Capital, and Founder Factor.

The company will use the funding to develop its industrial control technology, expand its product range, and increase domestic manufacturing capacity in the US. It plans to release its Cortex controller in the first quarter of 2027.

What is Neuron Industries?

Neuron Industries develops AI-powered hardware and software for industrial automation. Its technology helps engineers design, test, and deploy control systems for machines, production lines, and factories.

The company's main products are the Cortex AI Industrial Controller and Synapse development environment. Together, they allow engineers to describe how a machine should operate in plain English, generate readable control code, create operator interfaces, and test the system before deploying it.

Industrial controllers read information from sensors and direct the equipment used in factories. Traditional control systems often require specialised programming knowledge and can make automation projects difficult and time-consuming.

About Neuron Industries

How Much Funding Has Neuron Industries Raised?

Neuron Industries has raised $10 million in its latest Seed funding round. The company has not disclosed its total funding raised to date or details of previous funding rounds.

Who Invested in Neuron Industries’ Seed Round?

The Seed round was co-led by FCVC and Obvious Ventures.

Other participating investors include:

  • Y Combinator
  • Thin Line Capital
  • Zee Prime Capital
  • Founder Factor

Why the Funding Matters

Neuron will use the new capital to advance its industrial control technology, beginning with the Cortex AI Industrial Controller.

The company also plans to expand its product range with its own input/output (IO) hardware and human-machine interface (HMI) displays. In addition, it will invest in US-based production capacity.

These developments are intended to help industrial companies build and deploy automation systems with less reliance on traditional programming tools.

Who founded Neuron Industries?

Neuron Industries was founded by Dennis Ren and Kenneth Rhee. The company is headquartered in Gardena, California.

“America’s next generation of factories won’t be running on the last generation’s programming tools,” said Dennis Ren, co-founder and CEO of Neuron Industries. “For too long, automation incumbents have left engineers to navigate vendor-specific programming tools, fragmented software, and steep learning curves.

“Engineers need to understand and verify what their machines will do,” said Kenneth Rhee, co-founder and CTO of Neuron Industries. “With Neuron, they can inspect and modify the code AI generates, then test its behavior in simulation before deploying it to equipment.

Market and Business Growth

Neuron has demonstrated its technology on existing industrial equipment.

At CureWood Engineered Building Products, the company replaced a 1991 Siemens S5 controller on a finger-jointing production line. The system involved 189 hardwired input and output points.

Neuron used its AI-powered process to convert the old programmable logic controller (PLC) programmes into new control logic. The project required around three hours of human-agent engineering and eight hours of downtime. The production line operated successfully on its first power-up.

What Happens Next?

Neuron plans to continue developing Cortex, expand its hardware offerings, and increase US production capacity. The company is targeting the first quarter of 2027 for the Cortex release as it works to make industrial automation easier to develop and deploy.
