[Funding alert] TX-based Defense Tech Startup Darkhive Secures $4M in Seed Round Funding

Darkhive, a Texas-based defence technology startup, secures $4 million in its seed round. Crosslink Capital led the round, with participation from MVP Ventures, Capital Factory, and longtime backer Stellar Ventures.

Darkhive, a Texas-based defence technology startup, secures $4 million in its seed round. Crosslink Capital led the round, with participation from MVP Ventures, Capital Factory, and longtime backer Stellar Ventures.

With the funds, the company plans to help prominent Department of Defence activities by expediting the manufacturing of hardware and software product lines.

Under the leadership of CEO John Goodson, Darkhive is a manufacturer of unmanned devices with open hardware and software interfaces that offer situational awareness that can save lives both locally and internationally.

Prior to this, the company got multiple Phase II SBIR/STTR awards from AFWERX and the Air Force Research Lab, an IDIQ Phase III Small Business Innovation Research award from AFWERX Autonomy Prime, and OTA contracts from the Defence Innovation Unit National Security Innovation Capital and the Office of the Undersecretary of Defence Research and Engineering Innovation and Modernization.
